Getting started
Create your Criptala account and sign in — no password required.
New to Criptala? Getting started takes three steps: sign in to create your account, set up a profile, and verify your identity. This page covers the first step — signing in. There's no separate sign-up form: your account is created automatically the first time you sign in.
The three steps to your first transaction
- Sign in to create your account (this page).
- Create a profile — personal or business.
- Verify your identity to unlock buying, selling, and investing.
Ways to sign in
Criptala is passwordless by default — you don't need to create or remember a password. You can sign in three ways:
Access link & code
The default. Get a one-time link and 6-digit code by email.
Google or Facebook
Sign in with an existing Google or Facebook account.
Email & password
If you've set a password, you can use it instead.
Sign in with an access link (recommended)
This is the screen you'll see first at sign-in. It asks only for your email.
Enter your email address on the "We are glad to see you again" screen and select Send access link.
Open your inbox. We send an email titled "Your access" with a Sign in button and a 6-digit access code. The screen updates to "Check your inbox".
Finish signing in either way:
- Click Sign in in the email — it logs you in directly, or
- Type the 6-digit code into the "Check your inbox" screen.
Didn't get the email?
Use Send again on the code screen (there's a short cooldown between resends). Check your spam folder, and make sure you typed your address correctly. The code and link expire after a while — if yours stopped working, request a new one. If a link says "Invalid link", just request a new access code.
Sign in with Google or Facebook
On the sign-in screen, choose Google or Facebook and complete that provider's login. Criptala creates (or finds) your account from the email that provider shares.
Use the same method every time
Your account is linked to the first provider you use. If you first sign in with Google, signing in later with Facebook on the same email won't work — keep using the method you started with. If something goes wrong you'll see "There was an error processing your request." — try again with your original method.
Sign in with email & password
Prefer a classic login? From the sign-in screen choose Password to reach the "Sign in with your credentials" screen, then enter your email and password and select Sign in. You can switch back to the passwordless flow at any time with Access link.
Forgot your password?
On the credentials screen, select Forgot your password?, enter your email, and choose Request link. We'll email you a link to set a new password. Open it, enter your new password twice, and select Reset.
Verify your email
If you signed in with a password (or a social account whose email isn't already confirmed), you'll land on Verify your email address. We send a verification link to your inbox; the screen waits and updates automatically once you click it. Use Send again if you need another email.
Signing in with an access link or a verified Google/Facebook account confirms your email automatically — you'll skip this step.
What's next
Once you're signed in, you'll be guided to set up a profile and verify your identity before you can transact.
