Identity verification
Verify your profile to unlock buying, selling, and investing on Criptala.
Verifying your profile (KYC) is what unlocks the exchange. Until your active profile is Verified, the buy/sell checkout and investments are blocked — though you can still see your orders home.
Verification is per profile
Each profile is verified independently. Verifying one profile doesn't verify the others. See Profiles to manage them.
Two kinds of requirement
Depending on your profile, you may be asked to complete either or both of these:

Completing documentation
When documentation is pending you're taken to a form headed We need some information, with the subtitle "Please fill in the following information to continue." Fields vary — text, numbers, dates, selections, or file uploads for documents — and each is labelled and may be required.
Fill in the requested fields. You may be asked for documents such as an Identity document, Passport, or Tax identification.
Select Continue to submit. You'll see "Your information has been saved" — "We will review it shortly and get back to you as soon as possible."
The form's top-right Close returns you to your orders home, which stays accessible while documentation is pending. You can also Logout from here.
Coming back later
Whenever there's pending documentation, an amber banner — Documentation pending / "We need some additional documentation" — lets you reopen the form with its Complete documentation button.
Identity verification with Metamap
When identity verification is required you'll see Identity verification required — "Complete your identity verification with Metamap to continue using all features." Select Verify (or Verify profile from the banner; a modal also offers Understood).
Select Verify. Metamap opens inside your browser.
Complete Metamap's steps — typically capturing your ID document and a selfie. Metamap may collect your full name, date of birth, document country and number, address, and phone number.
Finish. The page reloads to pick up your new status. The final result arrives shortly after Metamap finishes reviewing.
Your profile status

| Verified | Verificado | Fully verified; you can buy, sell, and invest. |
| Rejected | Rechazado | Verification was declined; contact support. |
| Disabled | Deshabilitado | The profile is disabled. |
Only Verified profiles can transact
The buy/sell checkout and investments are available only to Verified profiles. If you try while not verified you'll see "Profile not verified" — "You need to verify your profile to access this resource." — and be returned to your orders home.
Higher limits may need more verification
Criptala uses verification tiers tied to your operating volume (in USD). When an order would push you into a higher tier, the checkout summary warns: "When you complete this operation, we will request additional documentation to continue verifying your profile."
This is just a heads-up — it doesn't block that order. New documentation requirements appear afterward. See Fees & limits for how tiers and limits work.
