Profiles

Create the identity you operate under — personal or business — and learn how to switch and manage profiles.

Your account is your email login. A profile is the identity you actually operate under inside the exchange — your operating identity. You need at least one profile to do anything, and a single account can hold several profiles and switch between them.

Account vs. profile

Think of your account as the way you sign in, and a profile as who you are operating as. You sign in once, then choose (or create) the profile you want to use.

Create your first profile

After you sign in and confirm your email, if you don't have a profile yet you'll land on Configure your profile, with the subtitle "Select the type of account that best suits your needs."

Pick the type that fits you:

Person

Operate under your own name with your identity document or passport. You can have at most one.

Business

Operate under a business name. You can have several.

Choose a profile typePerson or Business.

(Optional) Add a referral code. Expand "Do you have a referral code?" and enter a code you received from another user to receive potential rewards or benefits.

Select Continue. By continuing, you agree to our terms and conditions.

Referral codes

A referral code is optional. If the one you enter doesn't work you'll see "The referral code is invalid." — note that you can't use your own code. See Rewards for how referrals work.

What happens after you create it

Your new profile starts in Pending status, picks up any compliance requirements, and becomes your active profile. From there:

  • A Business profile takes you to add a bank account — see Accounts & beneficiaries.
  • A Person profile takes you straight to your orders home.

One pending profile at a time

If you already have a profile still waiting on verification, you can't create another one. You'll see "You have a pending profile""Please wait for the verification process to be completed before creating a new one."

Switch and manage profiles

Open the Account menu at the top right to manage everything tied to your identity:

Menu itemWhat it's for
Current profileThe profile you're operating as right now.
ProfilesView and manage your profiles.
AccountYour account-level settings.
API tokensProgrammatic access (Business profiles only).
Activate agreementRegister to a corporate or partner agreement (shown when available).
LogoutSign out of your account.

The sidebar also has a Switch profile selector. You can switch profiles at any time — even into a profile that's still blocked pending verification. Your active profile shows its Category and Points.

Invite members to a profile

A profile owner can invite another person to join their profile by email. The person you invite gets a notification — "You have been invited to join :name" — and joins through a link. Once they accept, you're notified that "A user has joined your profile".

Activate an agreement

If you're part of a corporate or partner agreement, choose Activate agreement from the Account menu to open Register to an agreement"If you are part of an agreement, enter the category and registration codes to access."

Enter your Category code and your Agreement code.

Select Register. On success you'll see a "Saved" confirmation.

An agreement code is single-use. It links your profile to a Category, which can change your pricing or classification.

What's next

Each profile is verified on its own. Once your profile exists, the next step is to verify it so you can buy, sell, and invest.
